Robert Qualters is an American painter, installation artist and printmaker based in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania whose career has spanned six decades. His work is a play of contrasts, where worn urban settings are bathed in vibrant color and light, examples of everyday life stand unflinchingly beside the strange and unexpected, perspective bends to reveal familiar yet dreamlike landscapes, and layers of details large and small help tell his tales.
