LIFE EXPERIENCES | SELF-PORTRAITS. Life memories are the foundation of all artistic work. These are directly shown —self-portraits at various times of my life in various places. As a 19 year old soldier on leave in ”Penn Station Rotunda”, a teen age voyeur in “Night Watchers”, and a three year old in ”Boy Explorer Falls Through Bridge”. I painted myself in the pose of John Kane’s self portrait, an homage to a great Pittsburgh artist. Nude self-portraits from 1977 and 2014. “Polish Hill Window” is a memorial to my late wife, seen at lower right behind the kitchen curtain. I am at lower left, going in the opposite direction. “A Life” is a visual metaphor for my life’s progress. Happy Trails.”
