A BOOK OF HOURS. A collaboration with the poet Jane McCreery. I have worked directly with many poets and used the work of others, like Galway Kinnell and R.M. Rilke in my paintings and prints. Jane and I worked together in the development of the 24 paintings based on her poems. She kept the texts brief and used common domestic themes. Our models were medieval hours books, often done for noble women as devotional aids, beautifully illustrated. Our collaboration, not intended for religious contemplation, was intended to show the unique, important moments in our ordinary lives.”
